Standard music instruction often demands rigid repetition and passive theory that trigger overwhelm. Go Mad Music adapts music education to the human brain—unlocking focus, confidence, and self-expression through drums.
My journey began with a drumstick in hand at age 15. Over the next two decades, drumming took me across stage and studio settings, completing a Bachelor of Music in Performance and developing a deep appreciation for the craft. But as I spent thousands of hours teaching students across South Africa, the Middle East, the UK and Australia, a clear pattern emerged:
Driven to understand how learning, focus, and neurological processing intersect, I completed a Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology (MSc). Combining psychological principles with music tuition, transformed my approach to teaching.
By integrating multi-sensory learning cues, structured beat patterns, visual colour-coded notation, and adaptive lesson pacing, I developed a framework designed to meet neurodivergent learners (ADHD, AuDHD, Autism) exactly where they are.
We bridge real-world performance skills with applied psychology to create a space where neurodivergent students thrive.
Lessons are structured around dopamine-friendly goal loops, cognitive pacing, and executive function support—keeping engagement high without sensory burnout.
Solid technical grounding, posture, and timekeeping taught through high-energy, practical application rather than endless dry drills.
Customised, multi-modal instruction (visual colour grids, rhythmic word associations, and auditory cues) adapted for diverse learning styles.
Proven teaching methods refined through working with hundreds of diverse students across South Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Australia and America.
